I want to ask, are you willing to take some constructive criticism on some of your icons? I have some ideas i wanted to share.
Sure, what suggestions do you have?.
Printers: it doesn't look like a printer at all, more like a floppy disk, i actually thought "wtf there must be an error why is there a floppy disk on my printer icon" the first time i looked at it haha.
Mouse and touchpad: that's a tricky one, right now it looks like military craft because of the sharp edges, mice are supposed to be rounded, smooth to the touch. Maybe if you zoom it out a bit and make it more round?
Sound: This one also required me staring at it to realize its a volume control bar (im on a 14" screen tho). Why not just make it a nice looking speaker icon, pretty classic but with a modern minimalistic look. Think of numix-umd, that screams "sound".
Wacom tablet: Looks like a shirt to me, but maybe because i don't have a wacom tablet at all. Quick search on google images:
[link]
Every image contains two things: gray color and a PEN. that would pretty much solve it.
Keyboard: an "@" means "e-mail" or "internet". Maybe switch the letter? Or again, look at nitrux-umd.
Well those are some ideas, if you think i'm making any sense i'd be happy to look further on the icons and share some more thoughts on how to make them more "natural". All of your icons look good, you're great at drawing them. My point is a GREAT icon is the one which doesn't require a title below it for the user to understand what it means.
Mouse and Touchpad: The "issue" here is that the icons are compatible with various desktops and that means that results may vary. For example, I don't get that icon I get another one which is located in the /apps folder (like the rest of the icons for the preferences) but apparently Gnome decided to change that icon for one located in /devices, but then that's Gnome's problem not mine. By the way, it's based off the ASUS Lamborghini mouse.
Sound: Why not the speaker?, because I used the speaker for the Music players. Why not like the Nitrux-UMD icons? because I stopped using those designs as I didn't like them anymore and I wanted to explore other ways.
Wacom tablet: That I really disagree, I tried to look at it as if it was a shirt but couldn't see it. Here's the tablet, it's a Wacom Bamboo tablet. [link]
Keyboard: Not necessarily, but again not going back to those designs. I'll try to make a bit different.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for the response!
BTW this is what i meant for speaker [link] something along those lines.
I know, just like the one I made in the old Nitrux icons.. but I find it too simplistic for what the icons are now.
